Napoli has reached an agreement with Liverpool to take Martin Skrtel on loan, according to reports in Italy.
The 28-year-old, who was Liverpool's player of the year for 2011/12, became a peripheral figure towards the end of last term, making just two Premier League starts between February and May.
It is unclear whether he has a long-term future at Anfield and he could now move to Napoli, where he will link up with former Reds boss Rafa Benitez.
Liverpool have already loaned Pepe Reina to the Serie A side this summer and Napoli will now look to agree terms with Skrtel, who joined the Merseyside club from Zenit St Petersburg in 2008.
