Reds Handed NextGen Boost

Liverpool's hopes of progressing to the NextGen Series knockout stage have been given a major boost after Wolfsburg were held to a 3-3 draw by Molde on Wednesday night.

The result means the German side finish Group 2 on six points, one adrift of the Reds who currently occupy the second qualification spot.

Molde must now beat leaders Sporting Lisbon when the two teams lock horns on November 12 to have any chance of making it through what has been a keenly contested pool.

Rodolfo Borrell's youngsters travel to Portugal to face Sporting in their final match of the group on November 16.
