Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is in a three way fight with Spurs and Aston Villa to sign West Ham midfielder Scott Parker for £8m.
The Hammers would be very reluctant to allow the all action midfielder to leave Upton Park but an offer in the region of £8m would be difficult to turn down.
Aston Villa are also in the race to land the holding midfielder as are Spurs and it may well be that Reds boss Benitez spends any money he has on landing a striker to play alongside Fernando Torres.
But, if he can generate the cash, then a move for Parker could be on the cards.
