Stevie Gerrard cautiously admires his latest home security device – a ferocious-looking guard dog.
The Liverpool and England footie hero has enlisted the help of Quinn, a fearsome four-year-old German
Shepherd, to patrol the grounds of his family’s £3million mansion while he is away over Christmas.
And the security-conscious midfielder, 29, is said to be delighted with his new No1 fang.
Quinn and his handler, ex-prison officer Alan Sedley, will guard the star’s house in Formby, Merseyside.
The Anfield skipper first introduced round the clock security after a terrifying break-in two years ago. His wife Alex, 27, was confronted by four masked raiders as the couple’s two young daughters slept.
They ransacked the place and stole jewellery worth thousands of pounds.
In the past three years 15 Premiership stars have been targeted.
Security chief Frank Firth said: “Steven and Alex have both met the dog and are very happy with him.”
